I have lost weight, gained fitness, but most of all regained my self confidence. I have run a half marathon and also achieved silver in the indoor rowing championships.
Andy has training me to compete in the British Indoor Rowing Championships – something that previously I would never ever have imagined possible. Personal training remains an integral, important part of my life. Wouldn’t be without him.
After serving 5 years in the armed forces during which I experienced a wide scope of hobbies and interests from playing cowboy for a week on a ranch in the Canadian Rockies to completing my competent crewman award sailing in Vancouver. So when the time came to make a decision to leave or carry out my full service, I chose to leave and embark on a career as a personal trainer.
I had spent the last two years in the army as a physical training instructor, structuring the fitness schedule for my battery. I had a real sense of achievement when they did well and felt responsible when they failed but then elated when they later passed.
Helping people see past the limitations they place on themselves was the part i most enjoyed so personal training seem the perfect fit.
I have now been a personal trainer for ten years , working at Virgin Active Wokingham while completing numerous courses including my Premier Training Masters in personal training, I have trained clients of ages 16 -75, from morbidly obese clients to amputees.
Over the last decade I have trained clients to achieve many varying ambitions from becoming a national indoor rowing champion to passing entrance exams for the forces, in addition to giving someone the confidence to go swimming on holiday.
As your trainer it is my job to firstly insure your goals are realistic and achievable in the time frame set. Secondly; lay out a structured plan on how we are going to get there. Thirdly; make sure we have as much fun as possible doing it.
